About Neener

I believe there are no such things as coincidences.  I also believe that it is not a coincidence that our paths have crossed and your journey has led you here.  If you are in search of ideas for food, fitness, or general wellness and lifestyle - welcome!

I am not an expert on any of the above, nor have I paid big money for a piece of paper that says I am.  Instead, I am a woman with a humble kitchen, an iPhone, and a love for spilling my guts about anything and everything to whoever will listen.  I do not have an incredible story about how food, or lack of, saved my life.  But the story I do have is all my own.  It is unique and to me... it is incredible.

My name is Dania and I am on a lifelong journey of self-improvement.  In Japanese, "kaizen" means continuous improvement.  "Neener" is a nickname bestowed unto me from my BFF since 6th grade.  Kaizen Neener is a continuously improving me!  I am my own experiment, always seeking and trying ways to improve myself physically, mentally, and spiritually.  Like so many of us, I have my ups and downs.  My good days (or weeks... or months) and my bad days (or weeks... or months).  Consistency is the key and even when I slip back, I eventually forge even farther ahead building on the lessons from each down and up.

I maintain this page to capture my own story.  About me.  My health.  The food I eat.  The exercises I sometimes do and don't do.  The places I go and the things I see.  There are grotesque amounts of pictures of my family because they mean the world to me: Volt, Miss Ellie and my husband Matt are always along my side for this lifelong journey.  Nothing on here is meant to be a diagnosis or suggestion for your life.  We are all on our own journey and maybe something you read here will inspire you to take on your own n=1 experiments.

I am a California State Certified and NCBTMB certified massage therapist and - once upon a time - manufacturing engineer.  I am a Paleo-lifestyler, meaning I like to focus on a holistic approach to my own health and wellness, living as naturally as possible.  I am always in search of the perfect combination of diet, movement, play, sleep, and connections with like-minded friends.  I may never find the ideal mix, but the journey sure is a lot of fun.  I like to share my own experiences, the products, and the web pages that help me along my way and I hope they are helpful to you as well.

Comments and questions are always welcome anywhere throughout the blog.  Thank you for being a part of my journey and I look forward to being a part of yours.
